Hope that your weekend was great! Here's the third video that I promised on Friday. It's all about the big picture.

Thank you for tagging along in this little video series. I'm so excited for what is to come and it's something that I know will help so many of us!

Sometimes when we're expecting something the first time around, we focus way too much on the tiny details because we're unsure if they really matter or not.

I sure did when I was pregnant the first time.

But after having three kids naturally, I've been able to come back full circle and truly know what the heck matters or not in having a baby naturally.

If you left me a question, thanks! Here's just a few more that I wanted to touch on for you.

1. How do I find out about hospital regulations for my birth?

Great question! As you work with your doctor or midwife, ask them what standard operation procedures they have to do to either you or the baby during your stay. Then schedule a tour of the labor & delivery floor, and ask the same questions to the nurses and staff. Depending on your location, there are some things that they have to legally do, such as give your baby a Vitamin K shot, or some things that you can easily decline, like the antibiotic eye drops for the baby for certain STDs. Just ask.

2. How do I practice relaxing during labor when I've never been in labor?

I LOVE this question. There are a number of things that you can do that I will teach you. They're easy, anyone can learn them, and you can incorporate your own preferences of comfort in whatever technique that you choose. More to come on that. :)

3. How do I prevent tearing?

The thing with tearing is that most of the time you will not even notice it happening. The big deal is afterwards when you're healing, the tear is VERY uncomfortable for weeks at a time. Another thing is that because we all have different body types and skin chemistries, it's impossible to know beforehand if you will tear or not. There are a number of things to reduce your risk that I can teach you. But in comparison to everything else, it's usually not that big of a deal, depending on your circumstances.
